April 1st Resort Opens for the Season
Bethpage Camp-Resort opens for the 2010 season. For newcomers as well as returning campers, we look forward to bringing you a season filled with great events and activities each and every weekend.

April 2 – 4 Easter Weekend
The Easter Bunny will be here to make sure everything goes according to plan. An Easter egg hunt, kid’s crafts, and Easter coloring contest, games, Sunday service and a hayride with the Easter Bunny are just some fun things for the family to participate in and enjoy.

April 9-11 Welcome Back Weekend
We’ll get the season off to a tasty start with
our Welcome Back Hot Dog Roast on Saturday night. It’s our way of saying thanks for being part of our 2010 family.

April 16-17 Virginia Motor Speedway Race Weekend
Virginia Motor Speedway is a mile dirt facility offering racing from April through the first week of October. It is located just a few miles from Bethpage Camp-Resort. This weekend they have a special race scheduled; $25,000 to win Commonwealth 100 sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. Join us for a great weekend of camping and racing.

April 23-25 Nature Weekend
Join us for everything nature. We will teach you about the local plants and a few survival skills for an outdoor adventure. There will also be nature crafts and a wonderful bonfire to enjoy.

May 7 – 9 Mother’s Day Weekend
Dear Mom. This weekend is for you. With a craft show and bake sale, dad and the kids can go shopping for that special lady. As always, there will be plenty of activities for the children, including making a present for mom at Saturday’s Kids Crafts.

May 28 – 30 Memorial Day Weekend
This is the beginning of our summer season. Our swimming pools are open, so break out that bathing suit and jump in! The BETHPAGER, our authentic 1969, 48’ Chesapeake Deadrise starts her weekend series of 1 hour narrated ‘rivah’ cruises. There is a big craft show, bake sale, hayride and games. Our DJ will be playing your favorite tunes down at the beach.

June 4 – 6 Teen Weekend
Look out Bethpage! This weekend is just for teens. On Saturday night, there will be a bonfire, music and a Hot Dog Roast. Bring your favorite CDs, Ipods, or MP3 players and we will supply the time and place.

June 11 – 13 Chocolate Lovers Weekend
CHOCOLATE! CHOCOLATE! CHOCOLATE! Probably the only people who don’t like it have never tried it! This weekend, things might get a little messy, but hey, who cares. There will be many chocolate events on the schedule to keep everyone happy they’re here.

June 18 – 20 Father’s Day Weekend
Dad, now it’s your turn. Time for your family to show how much they care about you, in fun ways, of course. Our blind-folded Golf Cart races, the freshwater fishing tournament, and the Daddy Olympics are events that you’ll remember for a long time.

June 25 – 27 50s/60s Sock Hop Weekend
Let’s Twist Again, Wooly Bully, Runaway, and the Leader of the Pack! Do these songs sound familiar? Then this is your weekend to be at Bethpage Camp-Resort! Join us for a good old 60’s Sock Hop Dance, we’ll have the music blasting, you bring the costumes. Let’s twist again like we did last summer!

July 2 – 4 Independence Day Weekend
Plan to be here to celebrate the 4th, on one of our most popular weekends of the year here at Bethpage. Our Independence Day Weekend Parade is the highlight of the national holiday. Decorate your golf cart, bicycle, roller blades or whatever else you think will look good in the parade, and that’s it! We can always recommend a cruise on the BETHPAGER to watch the fireworks display close up. It is a great finale to a wonderful weekend.

July 9 – 11 Luau Weekend
Welcome to the Islands! “No particular island” as Jimmy Buffet would say. So “Parrotheads” put on your best flowery shirt, jump into a grass skirt (yes men, you too, if you’ve got one), slip into those flip-flops for some great laughs and fun. You can even be crowned Queen of the Island on Saturday night!

July 16 18 “Down on the Rivah” Prom Weekend
Prom night at “The Rivah!” What could be better. This weekend is dedicated to one of the most celebrated events of high school. So make sure you find your date and that spectacular dress because on Saturday night the Group and Rally Center will be transformed for Bethpage’s very first Prom. You don’t want to miss out on all the fun this weekend has to offer. A Prom Committee will be formed Friday night to organize and decorate the “ballroom”. Be there!

July 23 – 25 Wet and Wild Weekend
H20000000! And plenty of it. Bethpage’s new water park will be featured, but it’s not the only place you’ll get wet! For instance there’s our Wet & Wild Hayride. You might want to keep your bathing suit on because there’s water involved in all of the games and events this weekend.There’ll be great wet fun for everyone!

July 30 – August 1 Mardi Gras
A weekend in New Orleans! The only difference is at Bethpage “Fat Tuesday” comes on Saturday. The parade…that one-of-a-kind, Rhythm and Blues music…those beads, are all done in a way that’s fun for the whole family.

August 6 - 8 Kids Only Weekend
Once again it’s time for kid’s to rule. The schedule of events this weekend is specifically designed with them in mind. Activities such as the sandcastle building competition, the mini golf tournament, crafts, scavenger hunt, and the ice cream social, are just a few of the many fun events on tap for this weekend.

August 13 – 15 Casino Weekend
Luck be a lady tonight! Welcome to Casino Bethpage. You could win big and beat the house.You can try your hand at poker, blackjack, roulette, and the Bethpage Derby Horse Races. We’ll give you a bankroll of Bethpage Bucks to play with when you arrive at the casino. At the end of the night, you can use your winnings to bid on some great prizes at our casino auction. So go all in. What have you got to lose?

August 20 – 22 Crab Feast Weekend
ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT steamed Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs are what most folks come for this weekend. Saturday night it’s a crab lover’s feast. For those who don’t like crab, we’ll have a great landlubbers menu, complete with choice of beverages for all. Musical entertainment, coupled with a summer craft show and fun activities for all, is a nice way to spend the weekend and satisfy your “crabitite” here at Bethpage.

August 27 – 29 CSI Weekend
Who did it? A weekend full of surprises! Start sharpening your CSI skills now, so you can follow all the clues and solve the murder.

September 3 – 6 Labor Day Weekend
With many parents’ vacation coming to an end, and kids heading back to school, this is our unofficial ending of summer here at Bethpage. So while our swimming pools are still open and the water is still warm, come and jump in for one of the last swims of the season. Our Labor Day Weekend craft show and bake sale will be huge, as usual. And Saturday night come and relax at the beach or join the limbo contest as DJ Druex, once again, plays some great tunes.

September 10 – 12 Grandparents Weekend
Bring the grandkids and enjoy one last weekend in Bethpage’s new water park. There will games and crafts for all the family to enjoy together.

September 17-19 Tailgate Weekend
It’s a tailgate weekend, with a family flag football game, and a punt, pass, and kick contest. Bring your favorite recipe and warm up those taste buds for our chilli cook-off. Football, food, and fun, what more do I need to say?

September 24 – 26 Wings and Wheels Weekend
Airplane and automobile fans, this is your weekend, and Hummel Field in nearby Topping is where it all takes place. Antique and classic planes and cars plus plenty of food and entertainment are for you to enjoy at the airfield.

October 8 – 10 OKTOBERFEST Weekend
Willkommen zum Bethpage Lager-Erholungsort! Bethpage welcomes you to join us for our first ever Oktoberfest. The street festival will include vendors, food, a craft show, entertainment and much more. So put on your favorite lederhosen and join us for all the fun.

October 1-3 Camper Appreciation Weekend
As the camping season winds down, Bethpage would like to thank you for being with us this year with our free Hot Dog Roast on Saturday.

October 15-17 Halloween I Weekend
Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin would join us on this fall festival weekend if they could. This Halloween weekend is for the youngest of halloweeners. Bring the entire family and join us for loads of fall fun.

October 22 – 24 Halloween II Weekend
October 29 – 31 Halloween III Weekend
Our Haunted hayrides have become legendary. This year they will run on both weekends. Nobody knows what will happen along the way, so keep a sharp eye as the wagons travel into the night. Creatures could be lurking about. On Halloween Night II and III, we will have our Halloween Party, with a costume party for all ages and tasty treats for the kids. There will be a site decorating contest, pumpkin carving contest, and a decorated golf cart parade. We will also have small child-friendly activities for the little ghosts and goblins.

November 5–7 53rd Annual Urbanna Oyster Festival
Originally called “Urbanna Days”, this weekend festival was begun to promote Urbanna and its economy. In the first few years, the event was a relatively small gathering of local folks, highlighted by a parade of mainly just antique cars. Now, over 90,000 people venture into our historic port town to partake in the food, fun, and festivities. The fireman’s parade on Friday night is filled with emergency units from across Virginia. There is the Oyster Shucking Contest with the best in the world competing. The Oyster Festival Parade, the crowning of the Oyster Queen and Spat (spat is a baby oyster, here referring to a young girl), exhibits, vendors, RV & Boat Show, and of course, the food all combine to make this a memorable weekend. Transportation from Bethpage into town and back is by hay wagons or onboard the Bethpager. Make sure you make your reservations early because this is one of the busiest weekends we have here at Bethpage Camp-Resort.

November 15 Resort Closes for the Season
It’s that time of year. Bethpage Camp-Resort closes for the season. We look forward to seeing you next season with more great events, entertainment, and fun filled activities in 2011.
